Probably You agree that time out is not just for sitting in the bench and wasting precious time. If the coach decides to use one of the few options it would be wise to set the strategics for the few next minutes coming.
But if the whistle was arranged by the opposite side?
2020 time out was an unpleasant surprise for many. Same thing usually happens during the sport games. Opposite side can asks to stop the game to rearrange their game or just to break Your rhythm. Of course, we are not fighting with some visible enemy in case on pandemia but even then – how to use the time out!? The stop is a stop! It does not depend on us why the game was paused but what we are doing on the bench during the pause depends only on us.
Reset Your strategies!
Just to sit and wait until the pause ends is not the wisest thing to do. Focus on the strategies how to proceed! Use this forced time out to analyze Your companies structure, strategies, competence, etc. For example, it is good time to fix Your customer service standards if not set yet. Or try to understand what Your employees can and can not implement from it. It will neither help a lot to wine and criticize Your team. It depends lot how they will act after the liberating whistle on how You treated them during the pause.
The best You can do is to use the moment wisely!
Anyway, focus on tomorrow! And it is quite a same story if the pause is caused by Corona, or has been taken voluntarily to analyze the Mystery Shopping period results or for training day. Use it – future in mind!
